Because of an editing error, an Oct. 24 article incorrectly said David Lapan, a spokesman for the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, is a Marine lieutenant colonel. Lapan is a Marine colonel.

An Oct. 24 Metro article about educational testing should have stated that consensus is building among officials that "proficient" on state tests more closely resembles "basic" on the National Assessment of Educational Progress, rather than the reverse.

An Oct. 23 Metro article about the Virginia House of Delegates race between Del. Jeffrey M. Frederick (R-Prince William) and Prince William County Supervisor Hilda M. Barg (D-Woodbridge) incorrectly reported Frederick's age and place of business. Frederick, 30, is the founder and chief executive of GXS Strategies.

The Help File column in the Oct. 23 Sunday Business section incorrectly defined terabyte. A terabyte of memory equals 1,024 gigabytes.

An article in the Oct. 23 Sports section incorrectly indicated that the Washington Redskins gave the Jacksonville Jaguars a second-round draft pick for quarterback Mark Brunell. The Redskins gave up a third-round pick.

In some Oct. 23 editions, an article about I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby incorrectly reported that he has two sons. He has a son and a daughter. Also, the law firm of Dechert, Price and Rhoads, where Libby once worked, was misidentified.

An Oct. 22 Sports article in the Maryland and District editions incorrectly said the Dunbar High School football team's division record is 1-1. Dunbar is 2-1 in the D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association's West Division.

A reference to an Oct. 22 Sports article in some Virginia editions incorrectly stated that the Robinson High School football team had lost to Westfield the weekend of Oct. 14-15. Robinson's loss that weekend came against Centreville.

An article in the Oct. 22 Sports section incorrectly indicated that former Olympic figure skating champion Sarah Hughes is competing in the Stars on Ice tour. Hughes is a full-time student at Yale.

A chart on the Federal Page on Oct. 20 incorrectly referred to the GAO as the General Accountability Office. The GAO is the Government Accountability Office.
