Like milk and cookies, some combinations deserve to be celebrated. That's why District-native Leigh-Ann Jackson created Swirl Syndicate ( http://www.swirlsyndicate.com ). The line, designed for interracial tots ages 6 months to 2 years, features T-shirts ($25 each) with spirited sayings such as "Multi-Culti Cutie" and "I'm Swirled."

"It's a cute little way to give props to kids who are going to have to field really annoying questions -- for the rest of their lives, essentially," says 28-year-old Jackson, who is black and in an interracial marriage. Jackson's 11-month-old daughter Simone, who has fair skin and red hair, inspired the line.

"My biggest challenge is keeping up with all the different mixes," says Jackson. Recently, she's added a shirt with a bowl of rice and a slice of white bread on it for Asian Caucasian kids, as well as a shirt with a blender that says, "I'm a little bit of everything."
