The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority suggests arriving at the airport at least two to 2 1/2 hours before domestic flights and three hours before international departures during the Thanksgiving holiday. Reagan National passengers driving to the airport should check parking availability before leaving home, at 703-417-7275.
Of the nation's 14 busiest airports, Chicago O'Hare International has the most number of healthy meal options at its restaurants, according to an annual study by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. Las Vegas McCarran International has the fewest.
The Bush administration is planning to institute its Registered Traveler program, which would to allow certain airline passengers who undergo biometric screening and pay a registration fee to bypass extra security at U.S. airports, perhaps starting in June.
New York's John F. Kennedy International was voted both the worst U.S. airport and worst international airport in a Zagat survey of 5,277 travelers.
