PHOTO FINISH
The end is (almost) near for "GARBO!," a collection of photographs at Philadelphia's Calderwood Gallery. The exhibit and sale, which runs through Dec. 31, honors the 100th aniversary of Greta Garbo's birth and includes more than 70 portraits of the screen beauty shot by MGM photographers.
The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts is just about to kick off " Nan Goldin: Fantastic Tales ," a mid-career retrospective of the photographer's intimate shots of her friends and the bohemian world in which she works (Dec. 17-Feb. 12 ).
