Admission to Wolong Nature Reserve is $5.50. There is no Web site, but information is available from the Wolong Panda Club (Sichuan Province, PRC 623006, 011-86-837-6243058).

English is limited, so consider a tour -- available through such groups as Wild China ( http://www.wildchina.com/product/product.asp?pro=125 ), Panda Travel & Tour Consultant ( http://www.chinagiantpanda.com/ ), Posh Journeys ( http://www.poshjourneys.com/panda_bear_tour.htm ) and WorldWild Tours, operated by the San Diego Zoo ( http://www.sandiegozoo.org/calendar/wwt_china_2006.html ).

Lodging is available at the Panda Inn , attached to the Wolong reserve (011-86-837-624-3028; $38 per night) and the Wolong Hotel (Wolong Shanzhuang, 011-86-837-624-6888; $85 per night).

Admission to Chengdu Panda Breeding Center (Futou Shan, Chengdu, 011-86-28-835-07901, http://www.panda.org.cn/ ) is $4. The Dragon Youth Hostel (see below) offers round-trip transportation and entrance to the center for $9.
