Successful Purchases:

526 Kenyon St. NW: 13 units, residents finalizing application for construction loan

1400 Oglethorpe St. NW: 13 units, residents used city funds to purchase, deciding whether to create condos or coop.

912 Gallatin St. NW : 13 units, closed on purchase this fall.

1441 Spring Rd. NW : 12 units, non-profit developer is converting to affordable condos.

1390 Bryant St. NE: 12 units, closed this month.

1020 Monroe St. NW: 22 units, residents teamed with a condos developer; about half will purchase their units, half took buyouts.Renovations are about to begin. Project slated to include new restaurants and retail in long-vacant ground floor space.

809 Otis Pl. NW: 21 units, residents teamed with developer, now deciding who will purchase condos, who will take buyouts.

3314 Mount Pleasant St. NW: 37 units, some residents will buy their units as condos, others will stay with rent guarantees, others will take cash payments to leave.

6645 Georgia Ave. NW: 33 units, development partner is launching condo conversion; residents can buy units or stay and rent.

1831 Belmont Rd. NW: 24 units, condo conversion; 10 residents bought units; three took buyouts; 1 still renting; 13 units sold to outsiders at market rates.

4620 Iowa Ave. NW: 7 units, working on renovations, condo conversion.

2514 41st St. NW: 5 units, condo conversion, three residents buying their units, one staying as renter, one took cash to leave.

307 S St. NE: 20-unit cooperative.

1498 Spring Pl. NW: 12-unit cooperative

1428 Euclid St. NW: 26 units, will convert to limited-equity cooperative.

34, 52 and 230 Bates St. NW and 202 Q St. NW: limited equity co-op.

1848 Columbia Rd. NW: 21 units, limited-equity cooperative, tenants renewed Section 8 contract for federal housing subsidy.

3128 Sherman Ave. NW: about 20 units, converted to market-rate cooperative.

1007 Maryland Ave. NE: 12 units, condo conversion

4920 A St. SE: 15 units, limited-equity co-op. renovations about to begin.

4715 Texas Ave. SE: 27 units, market-rate cooperative since May, 2003.

1438 Columbia Rd. NW: tenants bought building, then sold to developer and agreed to leave.

1460 Rhode Island Ave. NW: 7 units, tenants took buyouts.

2110 19th St. NW: 15 units, tenants took buyout to leave badly deteriorated building.

1822 New Hampshire Ave. NW: 5 units, tenants took cash to leave, Dupont Circle building remade into high-priced condominium called The Windsor.

1466 Harvard St. NW: 12 units, took cash to leave.

700 Jefferson St. NW: 26 units, vacated for cash, building resold to developers who created The Jefferson condominiums, priced mid-$100,000s to high $200,000s.

3540 Rock Creek Church Rd. NW: 12 units, vacated for cash.

1220 Holbrook Terr. NE: 16 units, tenants took buyout, empty building sold to third party.

1722 28th St. SE: 15 units, vacated for cash.

1814 and 1816 29th St. SE: 27 units, vacated for cash.

610 3rd St. SE: 11 units, took cash to leave.

465 Mellon St. SE: 9 units, negotiated long-term low rents.

Failed Attempts

1922 3rd St. NW: 11 units, tenants organized but never made an offer, building under contract to outside buyer.

1765 R St. NW: 8 units, tenants organized but couldn't match purchase price. Building sold for $2 million in August.

734 Longfellow St. NW: 44 units, tenants organized last summer, but never made offer.

622 and 624 Girard St. NE: 18 units, tenants association failed to match offer, one tenant then purchased building herself, others rent from her.

704 Quincy St. NE: 5 units, tenants purchase effort fell through, building sold to third party.
