This was a wedding ceremony with a kick.
D.C. United goalkeeper Nick Rimando married longtime girlfriend Jacqui Little , a former member of the Washington Freedom, in a ceremony performed by United midfielder Ben Olsen .
The wedding took place in Malibu, Calif., over the weekend. Both Rimando and Little are from California, but they didn't meet until moving to Washington to play professional soccer several years ago.
Olsen, Rimando's roommate when United is on the road, got his California marriage license online during the fall and showed it to guests during the ceremony to assure them that the wedding was official.
The newlyweds left the following day for a honeymoon in Hawaii.
