Finding Their Legs

The offensive line overpowers St. Louis as the Redskins rush for 257 yards. Clinton Portis carries the ball 27 times for 136 yards and two touchdowns and Rock Cartwright runs nine times for 118 yards.

Dec. 11: Redskins 17, Cardinals 13

Steeling Their Courage

A stirring halftime speech by left tackle Chris Samuels refocuses the Redskins after a three-turnover first half left them trailing 10-3. The game-winner comes late in the third quarter when Antonio Brown scores on a 91-yard kickoff return.

Dec. 18: Redskins 35, Cowboys 7

Putting it All Together

Mark Brunell throws for four touchdowns and the Redskins take a 28-0 halftime lead. The defense sacks Drew Bledsoe seven times, four by Phillip Daniels, and forces three interceptions. Clinton Portis rushes for more than 100 yards (23 rushes, 112 yards) for the third straight game.
