An Edgewater man is being held without bond at an Annapolis detention center and is scheduled for a court hearing Tuesday after police accused him of delivering a fatal dose of cocaine last summer to a 17-year-old girl near Philadelphia.
Authorities on Friday charged David Francis Downey, 52, with more than 12 counts, including felonious delivery of cocaine and drug delivery resulting in death. He is also charged with misdemeanor solicitation of a prostitute and obstruction of justice, his attorney said. Downey expects to be extradited to Pennsylvania to face the charges, said the attorney, Thomas C. Egan III.

Prince George's County police yesterday released the name of a man who was shot and killed by several intruders who police said forced their way Friday into an apartment near Adelphi.

Another man inside the apartment was shot once in the arm, but his injuries were not life threatening, police said.
