Jenna's Jaunt to Richmond
This relationship looks as if it might be heading into "your parents or my parents on Christmas?" territory.
First Twin Jenna Bush took a side trip to Richmond with Henry Hager , her beau of about a year, before joining her family at Camp David for Christmas.
Sources say Bush had a dinner date with Hager and another couple at Azzurro, a cozy, romantic Italian bistro in Richmond Thursday night. Bush, 24, later kept a low profile when she took in the University of Richmond's basketball game against Wake Forest with her main squeeze, a former Demon Deacon.
Hager, 27, who was an intern for Karl Rove and then part of the Bush-Cheney reelection campaign, is the son of John H. Hager, Virginia's former lieutenant governor and currently a U.S. assistant secretary of education.
All the President's Books
President Bush plans to tackle nearly 1,000 pages of recreational reading during his holiday vacation, White House Deputy Press Secretary Trent Duffy revealed from Crawford, Tex., yesterday.
According to Duffy, Bush toted "Imperial Grunts: The American Military on the Ground," the 448-page account of journalist Robert Kaplan's adventures with American troops. He also lugged Patricia O'Toole 's "When Trumpets Call: Theodore Roosevelt After the White House," which details how America's 26th president, still hungry for political power after a term out of office, tried to regain the presidency under the Progressive Party banner.
Looking forward to retirement, Mr. President? Or plotting a comeback? Duffy wasn't playing along. "He is an avid reader," said Duffy at yesterday's press briefing. "And the president knows full well that he's got a lot of time left in this second term and he's going to accomplish big things, as he has talked about repeatedly."
When he gets eyestrain, the president can tool around the ranch in the new clothes and biking gear Laura Bush gave him for Christmas. Then he can peruse the new books his wife gave him for the holiday. The first lady received jewelry and a DVD player.
Kevin's Wacky Web Site
For those of you dying for a constant Kevin Federline fix, rest assured that help is here.
Mr. Britney Spears , the former backup dancer and aspiring rapper, has launched his own official Web site, most likely in anticipation of his hip-hop album, "The Truth," due out next year.
Visitors to KevinFederline.com are greeted with the lyrics "Keep messin' with my family and you're through" (rapped by K-Fed himself, natch) while images of tabloid articles about Federline and his famous wife flash by.
The screen then announces, "Now that I have your full attention, never judge a book by its cover," followed by the ominous phrase, "I'm coming . . . 2006" and images of champagne glasses shattering. Yikes!
