Player of the Year

BRANDON HOGAN {vbar} Osbourn Quarterback {vbar} 5-11, 168 {vbar} Junior

Northwestern Region offensive player of the year paced team to Virginia AAA Northwestern Region Division 6 championship appearance.

Completed 112 passes in 217 attempts for 2,034 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Rushed 190 times for 1,147 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Coach of the Year

STEVE SCHULTZE {vbar} Osbourn

Fourth-year coach, a 1980 Osbourn graduate, installed new spread offense to better suit players' strengths.

Team finished 10-2 and made first playoff appearance since 1992 -- winning first postseason game since 1982.

First Team Offense

QB Jay Terrell, Manassas Park, 6-0, 175, Sr. -- Ran for 1,934 yards and 35 touchdowns and threw for 1,444 yards and 14 scores in leading team to Division 2 state championship game.

RB Courtney Anderson, Hylton, 5-10, 205, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra and Cardinal District offensive co-player of the year gained 1,542 yards on 213 attempts and scored 25 touchdowns.

RB Ryan Lee, Forest Park, 5-7, 170, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra and Cardinal District offensive co-player of the year carried 205 times for 1,292 yards and 13 touchdowns.

WR Marshall Dill, Hylton, 5-11, 175, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra caught 34 passes for 750 yards and 11 touchdowns.

WR Raphael Rigaud, Manassas Park, 5-9, 160, Sr. -- Terrell's top target, replacing two standout seniors at wideout, caught 51 passes for 899 yards and 7 touchdowns.

WR Justin Turner, Osbourn, 6-3, 192, Sr. -- Caught 45 passes for 736 yards and 5 touchdowns in Eagles' explosive spread offense.

TE John Maksanty, Woodbridge, 6-2, 242, Sr. -- Key two-way player, known for his blocking in the Vikings' run-oriented scheme, also caught 10 passes.

OL William Alvarez, Hylton, 6-5, 305, Jr. -- Rapidly improving prospect, with another year to go, already has received scholarship offers from Virginia and Maryland.

OL Chad Davis, Potomac, 6-2, 285, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra is one of the most respected two-way linemen in area; in addition to opening holes he recorded 8 sacks and 3 fumble recoveries.

OL Justin Hairston, Woodbridge, 6-0, 315, Jr. -- Led veteran offensive line that helped spring Vikings' runners for almost 2,000 yards this season.

OL Tyrell Lynch, Hylton, 6-0, 255, Sr. -- Three-year starter and team leader helped spur area's most prolific offense.

OL Toney White, Manassas Park, 6-4, 245, Jr. -- A top two-way lineman on team that rolled up 454 points this season in returning to Division 2 championship game.

K Eric Buckenmeyer, Woodbridge, 6-2, 195, Sr. -- Booted 7 field goals in 10 tries, with a long of 47 yards, and went 52 for 52 in extra points the past two years.

First Team Defense

DL Prince Anumah, Hylton, 5-10, 235, Sr. -- Recorded 36 tackles, 36 assists, 5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 4 quarterback pressures and 1 caused fumble.

DL Daniel Hauffe, Osbourn, 6-3, 215, Sr. -- Racked up 109 tackles (including 16 for loss), 9 sacks, 4 caused fumbles and 17 quarterback hurries.

DL Paul Thompson, Woodbridge, 5-10, 211, Soph. -- Quick young talent made 53 tackles, with 20 of them for losses.

LB Aaron Adusei, Hylton, 5-10, 190, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra notched 61 tackles, 56 assists, 5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 23 quarterback pressures, 3 caused fumbles and 5 pass breakups.

LB Bucky Griffith, Manassas Park, 6-2, 220, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra solidified unit that allowed two touchdowns or fewer in 11 of 14 games. Bull Run District defensive player of the year had 122 tackles and five fumble recoveries.

LB Marcus Hyde, Osbourn, 6-3, 210, Jr. -- Was in on 149 tackles and had 5 sacks, 2 caused fumbles, 4 pass knockdowns, 3 interceptions and a blocked punt.

LB Tony Keiling, Hylton, 5-10, 200, Sr. -- Cardinal District defensive player of the year collected 61 tackles, 59 assists, 2.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, 6 quarterback pressures, 4 interceptions, 3 caused fumbles and 2 recoveries.

LB Quillie Odom, Osbourn Park, 6-1, 191, Jr. -- Made 59 tackles, with 4 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries, for 8-2 Yellow Jackets.

LB Zack Weatherington, Woodbridge, 6-4, 226, Sr. -- Team's only returning defensive starter made 82 tackles, with 43 assists.

DB Anthony Bratton, Osbourn Park, 6-2, 180, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra was in on 47 tackles, made three interceptions and was named Northwestern Region defensive player of the year. Had eight receiving touchdowns .

DB Rondell Kelley, Hylton, 5-10, 180, Jr. -- Intercepted 5 passes, broke up 6 others, recovered 2 fumbles and scored touchdowns on defense and special teams.

DB Jay Kirland, Woodbridge, 5-11, 175, Sr. -- Vikings' team MVP intercepted 4 passes and recorded 59 tackles, with 21 assists.

DB Deante Steele, Potomac, 5-10, 175, Jr. -- Repeat All-Extra intercepted 4 passes, broke up 16, recovered 3 fumbles and made 49 tackles; also caught 24 passes for 420 yards.

P Brian Citizen, Hylton, 5-10, 170, Sr. -- Averaged 36.9 yards per punt and had four downed inside the 10-yard line.
