Debra Moses, 48; Boston Properties Executive, Lawyer

Debra G. Moses, 48, a senior vice president and attorney for Boston Properties Inc. in Washington, died of breast cancer Dec. 24 at her home in Chevy Chase.
Ms. Moses, who worked for Boston Properties for the past 18 years, was known for supporting and encouraging other women with cancer to fight the disease, no matter what statistics and medical studies indicated. She had cancer for nine years.
An indefatigable woman, Ms. Moses once worked a few hours on a Friday morning, took in her weekly chemotherapy treatment, flew to New York for an overnight visit with college friends, visited museums, went to dinner and attended a half-day cooking class the next day before flying home to make dinner for 12 guests that night.
She was born in Hampstead, N.Y., and graduated from Cornell University. She received a law degree from the George Washington University Law School in 1984 and worked for three years for the law firm of Lane and Edson.
She was on the Lowell School board of trustees for seven years and was an active volunteer. She was a member of the Washington Hebrew Congregation and enjoyed reading and cooking. She also participated in cancer-related fundraising walks.
Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Robert Mazer of Chevy Chase; two children, Matthew Mazer and Rebecca Mazer, both of Chevy Chase; her mother, Rita Moses of Wantagh, N.Y.; and a sister.
