SALARY: Median $91,000 a year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics

EDUCATION: Bachelor's in science and technology studies from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; master's degrees in administration from Central Michigan University and information and telecommunication systems from Johns Hopkins University

WHAT HE DOES: Moquin helps identify projects for wireless service provider Nextel to pursue, then oversees the dozen managers who handle the engineering process. He estimates how much time, money and manpower is needed for each project, from network upgrades to new features and designs for cell phones that are manufactured by Motorola.

WOULD YOU WANT HIS JOB? He has about 150 projects in the works, so the ability to prioritize is an absolute must.
