Charities offer this advice for those considering what to give:
Check with the charity: The list of goods that charities can use is enormous, but items that work for one charity might be useless to another. An organization that doesn't need an old computer might take an old dog leash.
Think about the season: Now is a good time to give winter coats and blankets, but a charity might have to store your Bermuda shorts donation.
