CONTRACTS AWARDED

Apptis Inc. of Chantilly and Smartlink Radio Network Inc. of Wallingford, Conn., won a $3 million contract from Solano County, Calif., for an interoperable public safety radio system.

Electronic Data Systems Corp.'s Herndon office won a $12.2 million, one-year option from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service on a five-year, $61.4 million contract providing services for DFAS's electronic data management system.

McQ Inc. of Fredericksburg won three Defense Department contracts to supply sensor technology worth a total of $8 million. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency awarded a sensor development contract to McQ for an acoustic triangulation system. The Army Research Lab is acquiring OmniSense, McQ's remote intrusion sensor product. Nova Engineering Inc. of Cincinnati hired McQ to supply automated imaging for a U.S. Marine Corps project.

Pragmatics Inc. of McLean won a $4 million contract from the Justice Department to provide systems engineering, design and development for the system that helps federal law enforcement agencies electronically book, identify and share data about people in federal custody.

Vista Technology Services Inc. of Herndon won a $5.4 million, five-year contract from the Army assistant chief of staff for installation management to help evaluate the service's real estate and facility needs.

Bell-Boeing Joint Program Office of Patuxent River won a contract for up to $676.9 million from the Naval Air Systems Command for acquisition and support of low-rate initial production model V-22 aircraft. Under the contract, it received a $6.9 million order for initial acquisition and support and a $9.6 million order for engineering and technical services for the V-22 flight control system and on-aircraft software.

Bell-Boeing Joint Program Office also received nearly $1.08 billion of other contracts from the Naval Air Systems Command. The largest award is a $1.01 billion contract for long lead components associated with the manufacture and delivery of 16 aircraft. The Bell-Boeing JPO also will provide flight test management and engineering, design engineering and related efforts for the Naval Rotary Wing HX-21 Aircraft Test Squadron MV-22 flight test program under a $30.32 million contract. It also will provide logistics for the CV-22 developmental test and initial operational test and evaluation under a $37.43 million contract.

Hensel Phelps Construction Co. of Chantilly won a $5.5 million contract from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command for design and construction of a flash jet paint removal facility for the Presidential Helicopter Programs Support Facility at the Naval Air Station, Patuxent River.

Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems and Solutions of Gaithersburg won a $308 million contract from the Missile Defense Agency for the development, integration and installation of the command, control, battle management and communications capability for the Ballistic Missile Defense System.

Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp. of Germantown won a $16.9 million contract from the Army Communications-Electronics Command for satellite communications and network management services for the Force XXI Battle Command and Below/Blue Force Tracking System.

American Bridge Co. of Richmond won a $30.6 million contract from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command's Engineering Field Activity Northeast for replacement of Pier 6 at the Naval submarine base in New London, Conn.

Computer Sciences Corp., Federal Sector-Defense Group of Falls Church won a $7.94 million contract from the Army Materiel Command for policy review and development services.
