ABC affiliate WJLA/Channel 7 is shuffling its news-anchor lineup to give star anchor Leon Harris greater exposure, station executives said, a move that bumps weekend anchor Christianne Klein off the weekend anchor desk.
On Sundays, Harris will anchor the station's 6:30 and 11 p.m. newscasts, the latter of which follows the network's hugely popular "Desperate Housewives" and "Grey's Anatomy."
Harris will continue to co-anchor the Monday through Thursday newscasts at 5 and 11 p.m., the executives said.
Harris replaces weekend anchors Klein and Elliott Francis on Sundays. Francis will continue to anchor the station's 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts on Saturday. Klein will remain at WJLA as a weekday reporter, the station said.
