Kensington Theater's 'Spider Woman' Leads in Nominations

Theater groups in Montgomery County received 26 nominations in technical and performance categories for the 2006 Washington Area Theater Community Honors (WATCH). The winners will be announced at a dinner Feb. 26 at the Birchmere in Alexandria.

Twenty-five community theater companies, staging 95 productions last year (25 musicals and 70 plays), were judged.

The largest share of the county nominations went to Kensington Arts Theatre, which received 15. All but one of the nominations was for the production of the musical "Kiss of the Spider Woman."
