The Washington Nationals will host a "Winter Caravan" this weekend in which four players and a coach will make several public appearances in the area, culminating in an autograph signing and food collection on Saturday at an Arlington mall.

The only appearance open to the general public will be from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. on Saturday at the Champps Restaurant and Bar at Pentagon Row Shopping Center in Arlington. There, outfielder Jose Guillen , catcher Brian Schneider , outfielder Brandon Watson , third baseman Ryan Zimmerman and new third base coach Tony Beasley will sign autographs and collect food donations for the Capital Area Food Bank. Fans who bring donations will receive Nationals coolers and visors.

Guillen is scheduled to visit the National Rehabilitation Hospital Pediatric Ward tomorrow. On Friday morning he'll be joined by Beasley and the three other players -- as well as radio broadcasters Dave Jageler and Charlie Slowes -- at an assembly at Powell Elementary School in Northwest.

On Saturday morning, the group will host a mini-clinic for around 75 kids at the Alexandria-Olympic Branch Boys and Girls Club.

Nationals pitchers and catchers report to Viera, Fla., for spring training on Feb. 18.
