Steak requires full-bodied, intense, powerful red wines. The customary choice is a cabernet sauvignon, but Post wine critic Ben Giliberti has come up with six out-of-the-ordinary choices. Any of these, he says, would be superb:
· Bodega Catena Zapata Malbec Mendoza ($20)
· Trapiche Malbec Oak Cask ($10)
· Fife Vineyards Petite Sirah ($25)
· Marques de Grinon Syrah ($40)
· Chateau La Nerthe Chateauneuf-du-Pape ($39)
· Bogle Vineyards Zinfandel Old Vines ($11)
