He also learned Morse code and qualified as a general operator, earning his amateur radio license.

His wife of 53 years, Edna G. Gibson Siegrist, died in October.

Survivors include three children, Harold L. Siegrist of Wheaton, Gail L. Greer of Rockville and Alan Siegrist of Mount Airy, Md.; and two grandchildren.

James Neil MorrisIndustrial Engineer

James Neil Morris, 65, an industrial engineer at the Agriculture Department, died Feb. 10 at his home in McLean after a heart attack.

Mr. Morris was born in Nashville and moved to the Washington area as a child. He graduated from Wheaton High School and, in 1962, Virginia Tech. He served in the Army until 1969.

He worked at the USDA until retiring in 1995 and was awarded the Superior Service Award. He was president of the local chapter of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers.

In retirement, Mr. Morris was president of the board of the McLean House condominiums. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in McLean.

He had no immediate survivors.

Raymond Joseph Fetzner Jr.Intelligence Analyst

Raymond Joseph Fetzner Jr., 78, an analyst at the National Security Agency from 1951 to 1979, died of a heart attack Feb. 10 at Inova Alexandria Hospital. He lived in Alexandria.

Mr. Fetzner was born in Erie, Pa., and graduated from Georgetown University in 1948 and Georgetown's law school in 1951. He served in the Air Force in the 1950s, leaving as a major.

He lived primarily in Laurel until 1992, when he moved to Greensboro, N.C., then returned to the Washington area in 2004.

He was a life master in bridge and was a bridge instructor, game director and partner in the Bridge Club of Laurel for many years. He wrote a bridge column for the Laurel Leader newspaper for 10 years.

His marriage to Ellen Rita Wrigley Fetzner ended in divorce. His second wife, Judith Ann Wrape Fetzner, died in 2004.

Survivors include a daughter from his first marriage, Jill Fetzner Zacharie of Alexandria, and a grandson.
