When it comes to Best Concessions, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall gets this year's nod for large airports (those with more than 10 million boarding passengers), according to trade publication Airport Revenue News . . . Through July 31, the atrium in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International will display memorabilia from the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame, including an autographed photo of Hank Aaron's 715th home run . . . Mineta San Jose (Calif.) International is moving into the 21st century, with a computer system upgrade set to roll out within the next six months. Passengers will no longer have to return to the ticket counter for gate updates; Flight Information Display (FID) monitors, posting up to three hours worth of departures, arrivals and carousel assignments, will be located throughout terminals A and C, and in real time at http://www.sjc.org . The airport's north concourse will have the "new" technology when it opens in 2008 . . . Philadelphia International has a new Museum of Art store in Terminal B/C . . . China, expecting increased air traffic with the 2008 Olympics (in Beijing ) and the 2010 World Expo (in Shanghai ), plans to spend about $17.4 billion to improve infrastructure in existing airports and build 44 new ones.
