Rearrange furniture to set up three natural areas:

· Place the sofa flush against the wall, and flank it with the two end tables currently in the office area. Add a chair next to the sofa, such as the Angled Arm Wood Chair from West Elm, in blonde with a natural cushion ($400, http://www.westelm.com/ ), and place the existing round lamp table next to the chair. To complete the seating group, add two Raw-Edge Cubes in natural, also from West Elm ($129 each), placed on the other side of the sofa, underneath the windows.

· Set aside office space by putting up a movable screen or partition. Try the Cayman 3 Panel Screen from Target ($100, http://www.target.com/ ), or the Ming Floor Screen with bamboo inlays from Pier One ($185, http://www.pierone.com/ ). Then, move the small bookcase from the living room into this area, paired with a new, larger bookcase in the corner to maximize storage for printers, scanners and miscellaneous folders. The Elements Reversible Bookcase from Crate and Barrel ($159, http://www.crateandbarrel.com/ ) in natural maple would do the job.

· Paint the walls in the living room and office area with a color lifted from one of the existing couch pillows; a shade of sage green would complement the bold blue stripe in the dining room. Try Rosemary Sprig or Eucalyptus Leaf, both from Benjamin Moore.

To highlight the view , replace existing blinds with Natural Roman Shades from Next Day Blinds ( http://www.nextdayblinds.com/ ). Take the duo-fold option, which will allow you to raise the shades from the bottom or lower them from the top to maximize the light and the view but maintain privacy.

Create texture by placing a 5-by-8-foot rug under the sofa and cocktail table. Mann likes the Jute Boucle Rug in walnut from West Elm ($109 each). Add pillows on the sofa in solids, striped and patterned styles that will pick up existing colors, such as soft reds and greens.

Hang a large mirror or piece of artwork on the wall above the sofa. Try browsing Michaels Arts and Crafts Store ( http://www.michaels.com/ ) for either. For something more personal, have a favorite photo enlarged, made into black-and-white and framed.
