Girls' Swimmer of the Year

Sarah Ameen Osbourn, Senior

Two-time swimmer of the year and four-time All-Extra won her third straight AAA Northwestern Region 100-yard butterfly championship and claimed her first region title in the 100 backstroke.

Cedar Run District 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke champion finished fifth at the state meet in the 100 backstroke and sixth in the 50 freestyle.

Will swim at Virginia Tech.

Girls' Coach Of the Year

Andrew Hicks, Forest Park

Second-year coach guided the Bruins to their first Cardinal District meet championship and a third-place finish at the Northwestern Region meet following an undefeated regular season.

Forest Park boys' team also went undefeated during the regular season.

Girls' First Team

Brittany Fox, Gar-Field, Soph. -- Repeat All-Extra won Cardinal District championships in the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley. She placed second in region and seventh in state in 100 breast and third in region and eighth in state in 200 IM.

Kali Gaskill, Hylton, Soph . -- Repeat All-Extra set Cardinal District meet records in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Finished second in the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle at the Northwestern Region meet, and was eighth in 100 freestyle at states.

Caitlyn Harrison, Osbourn Park, Soph. -- Anchored Osbourn Park's Northwestern Region-winning 200 freestyle relay. Finished third in the 500 freestyle and fourth in the 200 freestyle at regionals. Placed eighth in the 200 freestyle at states.

Amanda Hauck, Forest Park, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra was Cardinal District champion in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Finished third in the 100 backstroke and fifth in the 100 freestyle at regionals, and took ninth in the 100 backstroke at states. Will compete at James Madison.

Kristen Haudenschild, Osbourn Park, Jr. -- Repeat All-Extra finished fourth in the 100 butterfly and seventh in the 50 freestyle at the region meet after winning the Cedar Run District 50 freestyle championship. Placed 13th in the 100 butterfly at states.

Dana Kalnins, Osbourn, Fr. -- Cedar Run District champion in the 100 butterfly finished fifth at states in the event. Placed eighth at states in the 500 freestyle and sixth in the 200 individual medley at the Northwestern Region meet.

Gabrielle Mizerak, Osbourn Park, Fr. -- Helped Yellow Jackets defend their team title with fifth-place finishes in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke at the Northwestern Region meet. Placed 12th and 15th in those events, respectively, at states.
