Gymnast of the Year


Kelsey Deitz Stonewall Jackson, Junior


Emerged as the top gymnast on a Raiders team that finished third in the state. Set the school record in the all-around twice this season, topping out with a 38.575 to win the Northwestern Region championship.

Three-time All-Extra earned all-state honors with fifth-place finish in bars (9.675) at individual championships; placed ninth in the state in the all-around.

In her 26th season, led Raiders to their third straight top-three finish at the Virginia AAA team championships.

First Team


Kayla Deitz, Stonewall Jackson, Soph. -- Tied for 10th in the state in the uneven bars (9.475). Fourth in Cedar Run District in all-around (36.725).

Meghan Hammel, Stonewall Jackson, Fr. -- Improved dramatically throughout the season, filled in for an injured teammate at the region meet and posted a 36.575 in the all-around.

Beth Longo, Osbourn Park, Jr. -- Three-time All-Extra finished second in the Cedar Run District (37.375) and sixth in the Northwestern Region in the all-around.

Erin Stack, Stonewall Jackson, Sr. -- Four-time All-Extra, district beam and floor exercise champion, earned all-state honors in the latter with eighth-place finish (9.625).
