This is an excerpt from Gov. Timothy M. Kaine's radio ad on transportation spending.
Tired of sitting in traffic?
This is Governor Tim Kaine.
For the first time in a generation, we have an opportunity to fix Virginia's transportation problems. Republicans and Democrats in the state Senate have come together with me to offer real plans to get Virginia moving again.
We proposed a long-term statewide solution that provides a reliable source of funding, tackles out-of-control development, increases accountability, invests in public transportation and relieves gridlock in Northern Virginia.
House Republicans have a different idea. Their plan won't pay for current transportation needs. It actually cuts priorities like teacher pay, early childhood education and gang prevention.
The House plan just doesn't solve the problem.
You elected me to keep Virginia moving forward. That's what I'm trying to do, but I need your help. Urge your delegate to get moving.
