Unlike me, the buds do not hesitate,

the hills are confident they will be

perfectly reflected

in the glass of the river.

of my father -- skinny, determined,

in a New York Giants uniform --

ears protruding, eyes riveted.

Handsome, single-minded, he looks ready.
