Tracy Grant is the editor of the Weekend section. She lives in Silver Spring with her 11-year-old twin sons and their dog, named Sirius after the character in the Harry Potter books. During her 13 years at the Post she has been an editor for the business section, the newsroom Web editor and KidsPost editor. She loves bike riding, playing tennis, readng Michael Connolly novels and listening to what her no-taste children call "geezer music." She spends her free time looking for a movie she'll enjoy as much as "The Usual Suspects" and really hopes that "Pushing Daisies" will be as quirky a TV show as "Twin Peaks" was.
Amy Joyce is the section's deputy editor. Following the "Everybody's Working for the Weekend" mantra, she joined the section after writing about the workplace for almost a decade. She is a city girl at heart and loves all things D.C., from its quirky and classic theater to its great music venues. She's particularly fond of its many restaurants and bars and knows every milkshake joint in town. Her view on city life has changed a bit since her son was born in 2007, but that has only opened up new weekend options, of which, of course, there are many.
Ellen McCarthy is a staff writer for the Weekend team. After a few years covering Washington's tech and government contracting scene, she jumped beats to write about a different kind of local scene: fun. She's a lover of teen movies, good books and dive bars. Her quest for great chicken wings is unending.
Michael O'Sullivan writes about art and film for the Weekend section. A native Washingtonian, Michael spends most of his free time renovating the century-old Columbia Heights rowhouse he lives in with his artist wife and young son. (Actually, not his time, just his money. His free time he spends visiting art museums and galleries, watching DVDs, riding his bike and eating out way too often for someone with a second mortgage.)
Jenny Abella is a features copy editor who lives for the weekend. She loves television and movies, music (everything from bluegrass to hip-hop) and concerts, guided tours, scavenger hunts, diners and exploring the region's out-of-the-way places.
Twila Waddy is the Weekend layout editor who oversees the art direction of the interior pages of the section. She enjoys movies, television, museums and art festivals. And she likes outdoor activities, such as going to the park and beach. She's most famous for seeking out all of the free events in the area.
