The latest exhibition by students of WVSA Arts Connection, a nonprofit that uses art to teach social, vocational and life-management skills to D.C. youth with special needs, brings together a collection of paintings that captures Washington's historic and contemporary architecture. District Dimensions encompasses familiar buildings, monuments, circles and bridges. The students, ages 14-24, will discuss their works at the opening reception, where five paintings, including the one above by Derek Holloman, will be auctioned (a 30 percent commission goes to the artists). Opens Thursday. Reception 5:30-7:30 p.m. Through July 5. WVSA Articulate Gallery, 1100 16th St. NW. Free. 202-296-9100.
