The preparation for "This Week" is very much like preparing for a debate, even though my role isn't to debate public figures. My role is to hold them accountable for what they've said and what they've done. I guess it's the closest I'll ever feel to being a professional football player. You know, you've got the big game every week. You get psyched for it, and then you have your hour out there on the field.

I'm more in a groove now. It's something that you work at. You practice, and you learn by your mistakes. Now, more than ever, I look forward to that hour in the ring. It feels like a ring sometimes. I wrestled in high school and college. I set my high school record for draws. It's an odd record, but whenever Secretary Rumsfeld comes on the show, we joke about it because we were both wrestlers. And every time I interview him, it feels like a wrestling match. He doesn't come with canned talking points. He listens to the questions, challenges them and throws them right back at me. It's one guy trying to pin the other.
