Supreme Court Justices Report Road Trips

Not included was Justice Antonin Scalia, who was granted permission to file his information late. Scalia reported taking 15 trips in 2004, including to Japan, New Zealand and Greece.

Roberts and Alito had filed reports previously, as appeals court judges, but these were their first since joining the court.

With assets of $2.9 million to $7 million, Roberts is among the wealthiest of the justices, a group that includes at least five other millionaires _ Ginsburg, Souter, Breyer, Stevens and Scalia.

Alito, who replaced Justice Sandra Day O'Connor on the court in late January, reported assets of $665,000 to $1.7 million. The reports indicate the least affluent are Justices Anthony M. Kennedy and Clarence Thomas. Thomas supplemented his salary with $15,000 from teaching, and Kennedy made $24,000 from teaching deals.

The justices are paid $203,000 each year. The chief justice's annual salary is $212,100.
