Player of the Year

Whitney Thomas

Patuxent, Sr.

Despite facing constant double-teams, the repeat All-Extra scored a team-high 25 goals and led Patuxent to the 3A/2A east semifinals, the best finish of any SMAC team. She will play for Old Dominion.

Coach of the Year

Mike Denny

Leonardtown

The sixth-year coach led the Raiders to their first Southern Maryland Athletic Conference title. Leonardtown finished with a 12-2 record, 9-1 in conference, and has a 69-22 record under Denny.

First Team

A Samantha Harrison, Calvert, Sr.

The three-time All-Extra led the SMAC with 51 goals and scored 153 times in her career. She will play for the College of Southern Maryland.

A Jennifer Jones, Leonardtown, Sr.

The two-time All-SMAC selection had 57 groundballs and scored 17 goals.

A Nicole Smith, Chopticon, Sr.

The two-time All-SMAC selection scored a team-high 43 goals and had 33 groundballs.

MF Page Allen, Calverton, Jr.

Allen was second on the team with 49 goals and had 70 groundballs for the Capital Area Lacrosse League champions.

MF Stacie Brown, Calverton, Jr.

The repeat All-Extra had a team-high 51 goals and 21 assists to lead Calverton to a CALL title.

MF Sam Colaianni, Northern, Sr.

A strong two-way presence, she scooped up a team-high 72 groundballs and added 23 goals.

D Tasha Klares, Patuxent, Sr.

The two-time All-SMAC selection was Patuxent's top mark-up defender and finished with 22 groundballs.

D Cara Morton, Huntingtown, Sr.

The team MVP and repeat All-Extra had 22 groundballs and nine forced turnovers.

D Breanne Summers, Leonardtown, Sr.

Often charged with shutting down the opposition's top scoring threat, she finished with 34 groundballs.

D Lauren Yates, Chopticon, Sr.

The repeat All-Extra scooped up 27 groundballs and had seven interceptions.

G Julie Woodburn, Leonardtown, Sr.

The SMAC player of the year had 141 saves in her first season as a starter. She will play for Seton Hall.
