Girls' Gymnast Of the Year
MEGAN ASKEW, Chesapeake, Sr.
The three-time All-County selection rebounded from a back injury that sidelined her for most of last season to win the all-around in every meet in which she competed, until the county championships, when she was hobbled by a sprained ankle and finished fifth. She recovered to finish fourth in the floor (9.275) at the state meet.
Boys' Gymnast Of the Year
W. KYLE REGAN, Broadneck, Jr.
Regan, a three-time All-County selection and a level 10 gymnast, won the all-around at every meet in which he competed this season. His highest all-around score was 49.30, just short of the county record, 50.0.
Coach of the Year
CURTIS BLAND, Annapolis
Three years ago, Annapolis's boys' team consisted of one gymnast. This year Bland, a former gymnast at the school and now in his sixth season as coach, guided the boys' squad to win the county championship by nearly 13 points.
Girls' First Team
JOANNE AMOS, Broadneck, Jr.: Amos, a three-time All-County gymnast, finished second in the all-around at the county championships (34.25) and first in the floor exercises, helping the Bruins to their fourth straight girls' county title.
