Keep an eye on: The host team, Riverdale Baptist. The Crusaders have posted six consecutive seasons with at least 20 victories under Coach Lou Wilson, who hopes the past season's youthful team will develop in 2006-07 into one of the area's best. Riverdale expects four of its top five scorers to return: sophomore guard Chad Wilson , junior forward Matthew Graves , senior guard Aaron DeVane and senior forward Reggie Williams .

"We're going to continue to work on their skill development," said Coach Wilson, who is Chad's uncle. "Hopefully, they'll get better with their individual skills. We have a consistent program that we follow, and it's been working for us."

Riverdale entered this week 3-0 in the league. It has beaten St. John's and Georgetown Prep at the Rock Summer League.

Keep an eye on: The area's deepest league, with teams from all over the regional map. With Nike's sponsorship, the league attracted several top teams. DeMatha All-Met guard Austin Freeman gets an early glimpse of his future home, having already committed to play for Georgetown. Another top rising senior, National Christian center Anthony McClain , could also be bound for the Hoyas.

But the best player in the league might be Edison center Kene Obi , a 7-foot-2 Nigerian who arrived in the United States over the winter but did not play for the Eagles this past season. Edison beat DeMatha in overtime this past weekend.
