Longed-For Store Arrives in Tenleytown

Schaefer plans to tailor the store's merchandise to the neighborhood. Because there are more families in the area than at the Logan Circle location, she'll stock more merchandise for kids. She'll cut down on closet organizers since the Container Store is right upstairs.
At the grand opening Friday, Lake said he expects the store to have strong sales. He said he was especially glad to have kept his promise to the neighborhood.
"We feel good because now the building is complete," he said.
Faulstich walked through the store with a brown paper bag from Ace tucked under his arm, a birthday present for his wife inside. He wouldn't let her see what it was in it.
"I was going to go to Strosniders, but now I don't have to," he said.
Closings
· Grubb & Ellis Co., a real estate services firm, named Margaret Donkerbrook vice president and general manager of its Washington area offices. Donkerbrook, who will be based in the company's District office, was previously director of marketing at CB Richard Ellis and before that spent 17 years at Jones Lang LaSalle. She will report to executive vice president Keith Lipton, who was hired in March to lead an expansion in the region.
· A Richmond-based lodging company opened a Hilton Garden Inn in Prince George's County last week. Shamin Hotels is developer and operator of the new 155-room hotel in Greenbelt. It also houses a Great American Grill restaurant and 4,000 square feet of meeting space.
