The National Portrait Gallery is home to more than 19,400 likenesses of well-known Americans from all walks of life. As the museum reopens after a six-year renovation, we asked Director Marc Pachter to give us some insight about the gallery's exhibitions.

To put the tour on your iPod, follow these instructions:

1. Download NationalPortraitGallery.zip to your computer.
2. Unzip the file, using a program like Winzip or StuffIt Expander. The MP3s will appear in a folder called National Portrait Gallery.
3. Drag this folder into your iTunes music library.
4. Create a playlist, and transfer the files onto your iPod.
