Questionable Justice on Palestinians

Tuesday, July 18, 2006; A18

I am curious as to how Abraham H. Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League, has determined that a majority of the more than 9,000 Palestinians held in Israeli jails were "involved in terrorism" [letters, July 13].

Many of these prisoners are detained indefinitely without a trial. As such, how did Mr. Foxman determine their innocence or guilt?

Perhaps before Mr. Foxman lectures people about the "American values of democracy, moderation and reconciliation," he and the state of Israel should start practicing some of them.
