Fair Oaks District


ASHLEIGH RD., 5300 block. A purse was stolen from a vehicle.

CASTRO DR., 3100 block. A purse was stolen from a residence.

FAIRFIELD HOUSE DR. , 12200 block. Cash was stolen from a residence.

LEE JACKSON MEMORIAL HWY., 12300 block. Two newspaper vending machines were stolen.

SLEEPY LAKE CT., 12300 block. A purse was stolen from a business.

Franconia District


COMMERCE ST., 6800 block, 9 a.m. July 10. A man passed a note to a bank teller demanding cash. The teller gave him cash, and he fled. No injuries were reported.

EDSALL RD., 6400 block, 1 p.m. Aug. 9. A man entered a gas station and took a bank deposit bag from an office. An employee struggled with the robber before the intruder fled in a car with the bag. An investigation led

detectives to the District, where a 20-year-old District man was arrested and charged with robbery. He was awaiting extradition to Virginia.
