KABUL, Afghanistan -- Four U.S. soldiers were killed and three others wounded during separate clashes in Afghanistan, a U.S. military spokesman says.

Three soldiers were killed during combat operations in Pech district of Kunar province, said Col. Tom Collins, the U.S. military spokesman.

The fourth soldier died alongside an Afghan soldier during a "fight with a large group of Taliban," in southern Uruzgan province, Collins said.
