Fox 5 news weekend anchor Will Thomas unleashed his inner thespian Friday night when he made a guest appearance during the Wolf Trap Opera Company's performance of "The Marriage of Figaro."
The opera extended an invitation for a member of the WTTG news team to take on a bit part, and Thomas was chosen. "They were very kind to me," he told us yesterday. "I can see how people get bit by that bug of being in front of a live audience." Thomas had a small part in a wedding scene but didn't sing.
"He's a pro," said Wolf Trap spokeswoman Kim Witman . "It was a one-time thing, but we wouldn't rule out having him back."

Schieffer, 69, munched on a burger and fiddled with his BlackBerry (after pulling out his glasses) during dinner. The veteran newsman commutes to his home in Washington each weekend from New York, where he's been anchoring "The CBS Evening News."
