Oakton United Methodist Church will hold a special series of evening worship services during a revival Sunday through Wednesday. In addition to regular Sunday morning services, a barbecue dinner and worship service are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday, and a 7:30 p.m. service is scheduled Monday through Wednesday. Holy Transfiguration Melkite Greek-Catholic Church will hold a Middle Eastern food festival from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sept. 2 and from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 3. Good Shepherd Catholic Church will hold an international festival from 1 to 6 p.m. Sept. 4. The event is to feature games, rides, food and entertainment. Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation will hold a presentation on four decades of Israeli public opinion polls from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 7. The fee is $15 for NVHC members and $20 for nonmembers.

The congregation plans to sponsor 10-week Hebrew classes on Mondays beginning Sept. 11. Beginning classes will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and from 7 to 8 p.m. Students may choose mornings or evenings. Intermediate classes will be held from 8:15 to 9:15 p.m. Class fees are $85 for members and $90 for others. The congregation meets at 1441 Wiehle Ave., Reston.
