Hurricane Katrina was one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history.

Here's a recap.

· 1,121 -- Schools damaged or destroyed.

· 1,500 -- Estimated fatalities.

· 800,000 -- People forced from their homes (75 percent were in Louisiana).

· $110 billion -- Amount Congress has approved to rebuild the region.

· 250 billion -- Gallons of water pumped out of New Orleans, Louisiana.
