The muster, or roll, of Capt. William Pierce, below, documented the journey of one of the first slaves to North America in a Portuguese ship. Her name was Angela.

Capt. William Pierce came in the Sea-venture.

June Pierce his wife came in the Blessing.

Henry Bradford age 35 years came in the Abigaile

Ester Ederife a maid servant came in the Jonathan

Angela a Negro woman came in the Treasurer

20 goats, 9 swine, 7 pigs, 1 house
