Beginning Sunday at 1 p.m., History Channel devotes most of the day's programming to the Sept. 11 attacks, highlighted by "American Vesuvius," a new program at 8 p.m., in which scientist and author Charles Pellegrino examines the similarities between the aftermath of the eruption of Vesuvius and the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001.
Among other new coverage related to the anniversary:
· "9/11" (Sunday at 8 p.m. on CBS). Filmmakers Gedeon and Jules Naudet update their 2002 documentary tracking emergency personnel's response to the Sept. 11 attacks.
· "Koppel: The Price of Security" (Sunday at 8 p.m. on Discovery). Ted Koppel, left, joins current and former administration members, military and security experts to discuss problems the government faces in the war on terror.
· "Brothers Lost: Stories of 9/11" (Monday at 7 p.m. on Cinemax). Men who lost brothers in the World Trade Center form a bond.
· "Dateline" (Monday at 8 p.m. on NBC). Interviews with people who lost loved ones on doomed Flight 93, which crashed near Shanksville, Pa.
· "Dust to Dust: The Health Effects of 9/11" (Monday at 10 p.m. on Sundance Channel). Some first responders who worked at Ground Zero suffer serious illnesses.
