Area events on Thursday, including former Iranian President Khatami's appearance at the National Cathedral, the immigration rally and a movie premiere have led to several road closings.

From 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Connecticut Avenue southbound between Massachusetts Avenue, NW and Woodley Road, NW is closed for a movie premiere. Traffic will share the northbound lane during that period.

Beginning at 4 p.m., Wisconsin Avenue northbound between Massachusetts Avenue and Woodley Road will close for former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami's appearance at the National Cathedral. Parking is also restricted from 1:30 to 11p.m.

Streets on the area of the National Mall could close on a rolling basis for the immigration rally, which begins at 4 p.m.
