So Special

Monday, September 18, 2006

When it appeared the game was getting away from the Redskins, they got a big lift from Rock Cartwright on the ensuing kickoff after a Cowboys touchdown. Cartwright fielded the kick on the goal line and returned it 100 yards. It was the third-longest kickoff return in team history and pulled the Redskins to 17-10 in the second quarter. Larry Jones had a 102-yard return in 1974, and Brian Mitchell had a 101-yard return in 1998.

When: Sunday, 1. Where: Reliant Stadium, Houston.

The Skinny: The Texans have picked up where they left off last season, and that's not a good place to be. Quarterback David Carr was sacked on the first play from scrimmage, then fumbled the snap on the next play yesterday in a 43-24 loss to the Colts. The Texans have lost 10 of 11 dating from last season.
