How to Talk Like a Pirate
Talking like a pirate is far easier than French. To become fluent in swashbuckler-speak, here's a quick vocabulary lesson, care of Cap'n Slappy.
Ahoy: "Hello."
Avast: "Stop and pay attention."
Aye: "Yes."
Aye aye: "I'll get on that right away."
Arrr! (with mandatory exclamation point): "Just about anything you want it to be; it's like 'oy' in Yiddish." *
* For extra oomph, throw in a growl.
