Contest 357: Poor PopeyeThe spinach lobby, eager to convince the public that the E. coli- producing spinach came from only a few farms, met at a secret hideaway in Arizona, southeast of Rough Rock.
Name the town.
Deadline for Contest 357 entries is Friday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. Send entries by e-mail (travtrivia@washpost.com; put "ETT No. 357" in subject field), fax (202-912-3609) or U.S. mail (postcards only) to Extreme Travel Trivia, Washington Post Travel Section, 1150 15th St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20071. One entry per person. Winner, who receives a Travel tote bag, is chosen at random from correct entries.
RESULTS FROM 355: LAKE LARKIn Contest 355, we asked you to name the lake in New Brunswick, Canada, northwest of Plaster Rock, suggested by the photo at right. There was about a 50 percent split among respondents: Half told us that it was Trousers Lake, while the rest told us that it was Trousers Lake and that it was northeast of Plaster Rock, not northwest. D'oh! While the vast majority of ETTites ferreted out the correct lake, we're going to toss out two Travel tote bags this week to atone for our sin. Congratulations to Jennifer Barnes and William Evinger, both of Alexandria.
Coming Next Week:
Winner of No. 356, Cruise Control
