Fox News Channel's daytime lineup undergoes some minor reconstructive surgery beginning today. Former Miss America Gretchen Carlson makes her debut as co-host on the morning show "Fox & Friends" at 7 a.m., joining Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade. Carlson replaces E.D. Hill, who will become a member of the anchor team for "Fox News Live" at 10 a.m.
In addition, "The Live Desk With Martha MacCallum" premieres at 1 p.m. and Jane Skinner is the new anchor for "Fox News Live" at 2 p.m.
The series premieres just keep on coming tonight. NBC's "Heroes" (Channel 4 at 9) is about a group of ordinary folks who discover they have superpowers, and CW's "Runaway" (Channel 50 at 9) stars Donnie Wahlberg as a lawyer on the lam. Both are reviewed by Tom Shales beginning on Page C1.
"7th Heaven" (Channel 50 at 8) is proving it has nine lives. The long-running family drama announced last spring it was closing shop and even had a tearful farewell episode. Well, it's back tonight for an 11th season on the new CW network with an emotionally unstable Lucy (Beverley Mitchell) persuading Eric (Stephen Collins) to let her deliver the Sunday sermon.
Aerosmith's Steven Tyler gives acting a try on CBS's "Two and a Half Men" (Channel 9 at 9) playing a nutty neighbor who's driving Charlie crazy.
On NBC's "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" (Channel 4 at 10), Matt and Danny (Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford) feel the pressure as they plan their first show since their return.
Let the Marie Antoinette hype commence. With the new Sofia Coppola movie scheduled to open next month, starring Kirsten Dunst as the queen, PBS gets first dibs on the subject with a two-hour documentary from filmmaker David Grubin. "Marie Antoinette" (Channels 22 and 26 at 9) weaves together reenactments, photographs and moving images in its portrait of the queen.
In sports, the New Orleans Saints host a home game at the Superdome for the first time since Hurricane Katrina, taking on the Atlanta Falcons (ESPN, 8:30).
In late night, Ray Liotta guests and Tony Bennett and Elvis Costello perform together on "Late Show With David Letterman" (Channel 9, 11:35). Eva Longoria and the band Death Cab for Cutie appear on "Tonight Show With Jay Leno" (Channel 4, 11:35).
