Following is a list of selected performances by Alexandria and Arlington theater companies, compiled by Washington Post freelance theater critic Michael J. Toscano. Not all companies have completed their schedules for the season.
American Century Theater

"MacBird!" -- Through Oct. 7. Barbara Garson's 1965 satire imaging LBJ as Macbeth is now running.
"Desire Under the Elms" -- Jan. 5-Feb. 3. Eugene O'Neill's classic drama of life on a New England farm.
"Drama Under the Influence" -- Feb. 23-March 24. One-act plays from Gertrude Stein and Dorothy Parker, among others.
"That Championship Season" -- April-May, with dates to be announced. Tony Award winner by Jason Miller about the reunion of four teammates with their high school basketball coach.
"Hellzapoppin" -- July 13-Aug. 18.
