EEOC Moves to Stem Decline in Disabled Workforce

The 1973 Rehabilitation Act banned discrimination against people with disabilities in federal hiring and required agencies to develop affirmative-action plans to hire and promote more people with disabilities.

Retirements

Robert F. Lake , an airspace specialist for the National Guard Bureau, retired Oct. 1 after 30 years of federal service.

Rosemarie Tolson , a technology specialist with the Transportation Department's office of the inspector general, will retire Oct. 13 after 36 years of federal service. She spent 32 years at the State Department in various offices.

Tim Twinam , a program manager and contracting representative for technology at the CIA, retired Sept. 29 after 31 years of federal service.

Talk Shows

Mark Maxin and Chris Kuczynski , experts on the 1990 Americans With Disabilities Act and the 1973 Rehabilitation Act, will be the guests on "FEDtalk" at 11 a.m. today on Federalnewsradio.com and WFED radio (1050 AM).

David Bowen , chief information officer at the Federal Aviation Administration, will be the guest on "The IBM Business of Government Hour" at 9 a.m. Saturday on WJFK radio (106.7 FM).
